Jenny R. Kasen is the founding attorney of Kasen Law Group, P.C., a boutique bankruptcy law firm representing debtors, creditors, and other stakeholders before the United States Bankruptcy Courts in the District of New Jersey, the District of Delaware, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Southern District of Florida. With more than fifteen years of experience devoted exclusively to bankruptcy law, Ms. Kasen brings a depth of knowledge and a record of results that few bankruptcy attorneys in the region can match.

Ms. Kasen’s practice encompasses the full spectrum of bankruptcy and insolvency law. She represents individual and business debtors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, and Chapter 13 proceedings, and regularly handles complex Subchapter V small business reorganizations. On the creditor side, she defends preference and fraudulent transfer adversary proceedings, prosecutes claim disputes, and represents secured and unsecured creditors across all chapters. Her litigation practice covers the entire range of contested bankruptcy matters, including stay relief, plan confirmation, cramdown, lien strip and lien avoidance, § 363 asset sales, DIP financing, and conversion and dismissal proceedings.

Before founding Kasen Law Group, Ms. Kasen spent approximately fifteen years as an associate at Kasen & Kasen, P.C., a respected bankruptcy law firm with more than fifty years of experience representing individuals and businesses in bankruptcy matters throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. During that time, she represented hundreds of clients in a wide range of bankruptcy proceedings and adversary matters across New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Florida, developing the litigation skills and courtroom experience that define her practice today.

Ms. Kasen’s bankruptcy career began in law school, where she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Judith H. Wizmur, then Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, and later as a judicial intern to the Honorable Christopher S. Sontchi of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Those early experiences — observing first day motions, cash collateral hearings, DIP financing, § 363 sales, and confirmation hearings from the bench — gave Ms. Kasen a perspective on bankruptcy practice that has shaped her approach as an advocate ever since.

Ms. Kasen is board certified as a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification, an accreditation recognized by the American Bar Association — a distinction held by fewer than one percent of practicing attorneys. She has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star every year from 2015 to present, an honor awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys in the state based on peer nomination and independent professional achievement review.

Ms. Kasen earned her law degree from Rutgers School of Law in 2010 and her undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College in 2005. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Delaware, and before the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Southern District of Florida, and the District of Delaware.
